Sept. 20, 2009 —Veteran Michigan journalist Bryan Laviolette has started a new Web site for Michigan automotive and travel enthusiasts.

The Web site, www.michiganwllz.com, includes new car reviews, stories about new technology, classics, car shows and automotive travel.

“If you love cars and love Michigan, you’ll enjoy this site,” Laviolette said. “We’ve had stories about the Woodward Dream Cruise, the NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway from a fan’s perspective as well as new car reviews and introductions.

“We also take you to travel destinations such as Ludington State Park and Traverse City,” he said. “Join us for ‘lighthousing’ where we visit Michigan’s lighthouses, seeing some of the state’s most spectacular scenery along the way.”

Laviolette, 42, is a native of Dearborn Heights where he worked at his father’s auto repair center. He enjoyed a 19-year career in newspapers and worked for publications all over lower Michigan. While he spent a considerable amount of time designing pages for those newspapers, Laviolette also has covered written extensively about the automotive industry.

He is a graduate of Central Michigan University where he studied journalism and automotive technology.

Besides the site for Michigan car lovers, Laviolette has started a companion enthusiast site for the growing field of amphibious vehicles called www.amphibiouswllz.com. The site is the source for news about cars and other vehicles that can literally drive into the water and instantly become a boat.
