FLINT — Car show visitors are used to the familiar refrain: Look but do not touch. Take all the pictures you want, but do not touch. Enjoy, but do not touch.

Ron Miller of East Lansing has a different take. He wants to share his 1961 Chevy Corvette with car show goers. Miller was at Back to the Bricks in Flint over the weekend, displaying his car, but also inviting show visitors to take a seat behind the wheel.

“I encourage people to get in,” Miller said. “I enjoy other people enjoying it.”

Miller said that he bought the car about 25 years ago when it was in boxes. He’s had professional help with the engine and paint, but he’s done a lot of the restoration work himself.

He has done a lot of the body work, chrome and stainless steel trim pieces himself.

“It’s not perfect and I’m not going to make it perfect,” Miller said.

Feel free to touch, if you want.
